Effective January 1st, 2007 j-fiber GmbH and Leoni AG will join forces to further strengthen the fiber optic business of both companies. Subject to the German cartel authority’s approval, Leoni AG will acquire 51% of the shares in j-fiber GmbH.
Leoni is a global supplier of wires, cables and wiring systems as well as a provider of related development services. With the acquisition of the majority of j-fiber shares the MDAX listed company will further complete its business in the field of fiber optics technology.
As part of the Leoni group j-fiber will continue to be the reliable fiber partner. Our core business is the supply to optical fiber cable manufacturer in the telecommunications industry. This remains unaffected.
Leoni invests in j-fiber’s competence as specialist for Multimode optical fiber in LAN applications as well as for specialty fiber and preform solutions used in various medical, industrial and automation markets. In return j-fiber will be well positioned to further expand its broad product and service portfolio in both market segments. You as our customer will benefit from the safety, stability and financial strength provided by one of the worldwide largest systems suppliers.
With our 100% affiliate j-plasma our OEM customers benefit from j-fiber’s expertise in the development and manufacturing of custom preforms for their individual fiber production: j-fiber’s priority target is further market share gain in the growing specialty fiber and preform market segments
