j-plasil Rods
j-Plasil rods are high-performance glass materials for high transmission from VIS to IR range, specifically optimized for the near IR range. Manufactured by j-plasma’s PBVD process they feature an ideally adjusted OH-content and show excellent features in the given spectral range while minimizing unintended glass defects simultaneously.

Expertise in rod making
j-plasma silica rods are manufactured by the Plasma Based Deposition (PBD) process. Pure synthetic fused silica is deposited in axial direction from a starting element. A high-frequency plasma torch is used as a heating source for the chemical reaction of SiCl4 and Oxygen. The high temperature plasma leads to chemical deposition conditions, which produce a low OH synthetic silica.
